Radiata pine: Ninety percent of the planted trees in New Zealand is radiata pine, used mainly for paper and plywood. Japanese people are not familiar with the name of the tree, but once you utter one NZ's city in the North Island, Napier, most of us will say, "I always use that! Not a day goes by without using Napier !"

Napier is tissue paper named after the city where one of the major Japanese paper manufacturers has a plant.

Radiata bark is used for orchid pots, and Christmas trees are radiata pine in New Zealand.

Dunedin has the fifth largest city in New Zealand in population, 140,000. Twenty thousand of the population are foreign students studying at Otago University. Dunadin is a sister city of Shanghai, China, so, many Chinese students are studying here.
