Shohaku Museum

We met the great artist, Atsushi Uemura at Shohaku Art Museum in Nara City. He is director of the Museum, from where he even led us to his private house and working studio a 20-minute drive away.

There it was, a grand-scale garden of flowers and birds! He himself showed us around his garden. More than 1500 birds of some hundreds of kind live here. They are not afraid of man at all. They are super models well taken care of. No wonder the birds and flowers in his works are very lively and sensitive in detail. The garden that has helped develop talent of 3 great artists for three generations was so enchanting and attractive that I could not refrain from touching this and that around me.

I would like to express my great thanks here to Maestro.
